Fresh Frog of Bel Air (gotta say, I actually love this pun name and it gets the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme tune stuck in my head….) is the polish I wanted to try the most from the OPI Muppets Holiday 2011 collection. It’s a green glitter with silver hexagonal pieces suspended in a jelly base. Now. Getting it on was a bit tricky (in my opinion). The first layer was practically nonexistent and then it was hard to get it evenly spread across and then you toss in the silver glitter and you have to abandon any hope of prettiness or uniformity. Also it was really hard to paint my nails as I’m recently back to nubbins after having grown them to a nice length but accidentally breaking a whole bunch on my right hand after a disagreement with a box at work (the box won!). The first few times you paint your nails after cutting them really short it’s tough to manoeuvre and then add the glitter on top? It is much easier to work with a crème on short nails (at least when they’re brand new).
Anyway. Back to the polish. I love it. I love the concept and I love the green colour. I love the theme OPI have in this collection of coloured glitters mixed with silver hexagonal glitters. It’s so un-OPI and I love that they are pushing themselves in this direction. I think Kermit himself would be proud of this polish!

One thing I also like about this polish is that it can be layered over something else. You don’t have to keep adding coats until it’s opaque, it works as one coat over another colour (seen here over Illamasqua’s ‘Force’ – which will be blogged about shortly!)
